The Buckeye Broadband Hockey League Is Here

The Buckeye Broadband Hockey League (BBHL) offers a fantastic opportunity for players, with sponsorship from Buckeye Broadband providing game jerseys, socks, and Toledo Walleye game vouchers. The regular season, running from late September to mid March, promises an exciting and rewarding experience at venues like Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter, Ottawa Park , and even the Huntington Center. The registration deadline of Sunday, September 8th is fast approaching, ensuring that all interested players secure their spot. Divisional rate skates from September 9th-18th are mandatory for all players, serving as a fun and inclusive event rather than a competitive tryout. Teams will enjoy 1-3 ice sessions per week totaling between 35-40 ice times throughout the season. The schedule, once available online, will provide a clear outline of the exciting season ahead. Get ready for a season filled with camaraderie, skill development, and memorable experiences on the ice!

10U-12U - $760/player

MAPLE LEAFS (ALL-STAR) PROGRAM: (see below)

GIRLS: Girls hockey is a priority for the club! The BBHL assembles a girls only team at the 8U level each season. Girls ages 6-9 years may be considered to assemble this girls only team. The team is placed in the BBHL for practice and game purposes.

PLAYING FORMAT: 6U & 8U will practice in a station based format following the USA Hockey American Development Model. 6U games will be played cross-ice. 8U games will be played half-ice. 10U-14U will practice half-ice and play full-ice games. 

USA HOCKEY MEMBERSHIP: All players are required to register annually with USA Hockey for the 2024-25 playing season. Online registration can be completed at usahockey.com.

ROSTERS & SCHEDULES: Rosters will be assembled until after ALL the rate skates are completed. Schedules will be available in late September right before the season starts.

RATE SKATE: All players are required to attend a rate skate in mid September. The rate skate is not a tryout for the BBHL. All registered players will be placed on a team.

TOLEDO WALLEYE VOUCHER FUNDRAISER: Each registered player will receive five (5) Toledo Walleye game vouchers. The cost of the vouchers is included in the BBHL player fee. Families may use their vouchers or re-sell them at face value. The voucher fundraiser is one of the club's two main fundraisers (other is golf outing).

COACHES: Head and assistant coaches are wanted. Please indicate your interest level during the online registration process.

CARPOOLS: The BBHL cannot guarantee carpool requests will be granted in the fall/winter session. (There is more flexibility with carpool requests in the spring session).

MAPLE LEAFS (ALL-STARS) PROGRAM:  From the BBHL, one all-star team will be formed at each the 10U, 12U, & 14U levels. Maple Leaf teams are for those looking for more ice time and a more competitive environment than their regular BBHL schedule. PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO TRYOUTS TO PLAY IN THE BBHL. EVERY PLAYER REGISTERED WILL BE PLACED ON A TEAM. Tryouts for the Maple Leafs All-Star teams are held in early September. Players must be playing in the BBHL in order to be considered for the Maple Leafs program. In addition to the normal BBHL practice and game schedule... Maple Leaf teams will participate in approximately 12-15 additional practices and 3-4 additional tournaments.
