NEW: On June 4, 2020, USA Hockey announced that it will conduct its Level 1-4 coaching certification clinics virtually until it is deemed safe to host large group gatherings. A new temporary card is being introduced as a flexible option for coaches to maintain their certification if they are unable to attend virtual coaching clinics due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- A new coach can receive a Temporary Card for Level 1 for the 2020-21 season. The following year (2021-22), they will need to attend a Level 1 clinic.
- All other coaches will receive a 1 year extension at the current level that they are at for the 2020-21 season. The following season (2021-22), they must attend the next level up.
- If receiving a Level 3, that certification is only good for 1 year.
- If you purchase a temp card you will need to wait until after October 1st, 2020 to attend a virtual clinic, if you see one that you want attend.
